My Friend, the Blog

As I am starting this whole process of blogging, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about why I want to write a blog, who my intended audience is, that sort of thing. The whole purpose of this blog is to help me remember to slow down, and just be in the moment. I spend so much time worrying about the past and making plans for the future, and I need to be very intentional about living in the Now. I am hoping this can be a place to record both my efforts to slow my mental life down, and to share the moments that I am living.

I am finding as I type, that after all of my thinking about who might read this blog, and what I am willing to share on a public medium, I am actually viewing the blog itself as the audience. Is that normal? Do all bloggers have this kind of dialog with their blogs? It certainly fulfills the need I have to get things out of my brain – a two-sided converstion is much more satisfying than a one-sided one. Even if half of the conversation is digital.
