In Progress

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

I thought I’d take a moment to share what I’m working on, since I’ve been putting up the kids’ projects.

I want to make more soakers, but that is on hold until I get a pair of shorts made for Ian. It has been a crazy, long process. Currently I think I am on the right track… but I’ve thought that before. No pictures of those until I’m done, I don’t want to jinx myself.

My other project is this rag rug, crocheted from old tee-shirts. I thought I was done, but when I put it in the space, I realized it needs to be bigger. Which means another trip to Goodwill.

Hunting Seagulls

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

I noticed that my kids’ approach to seagull hunting was so uniquely ‘them’… it was fun to watch

Ian was committed to catching a seagull. He tried several different approaches, including scooping them up in a bucket.

Chava tried to talk to the seagulls into coming to her. “Do you want to come here, seagull?….”

Micah was slow, but very determined.

Back from the Beach

We started out with a stop at Seaworld

Then headed down to the coast

The beach was beautiful, I loved how the water changed with the weather. We caught fish and crabs, and saw seagulls, pelicans, and some kind of hawk. The kids had such a good time.

As much as the older two loved the sand and water, I think Micah had the best time of all. I am pretty sure he was trying to take as much home as he could…
