Rest

July 27th, 2011

We spent a much needed night with friends. Words can’t express how grateful I am for their friendship to our family.

Family of Seven

July 26th, 2011

We have been a little busy lately… and as much as I very much want to update on our adoption and how the twins are adjusting, I am finding that I just haven’t had time. I feel like I need to start back where I left off, which of course makes the process a bit longer.

In the meantime, while I am loving learning about these two new members of our family – things are non-stop here. I am finding myself feeling isolated because I just don’t have the ability to keep in contact with anyone. I realized that one of the things I am struggling with the most is that outside of our little family, no one gets to see not just the struggles, but the progress. The twins are learning more each day, and we are blessed to see more and more of their personality come out.

It’s been my goal since before we came home to realize that it will be crazy, and to work on embracing the moments.

So, since this blog is all about embracing the moments… I am going to relax about updating our adoption blog until I can… but go back to my goal of posting here every day – even if it’s just one picture or one word. So, as seen for the first time in the United States…

The kids discovered an echo if you yell over the pond. They were also fascinated with the half-drowned umbrella.

Ian has been working on an indoor/outdoor communications device off and on for several weeks now. He’s gone through several versions, and today we got around to discussing tin can telephones. As it happened, I was making soup for dinner and had some cans available…

Yesterday was cold and drizzly. I am sure we wouldn’t have made it outside on our own, but our friends invited us over. We went for a nature walk and made nature journals.
