… but I didn’t.

Outdoor Challenge

Last year around this time, I realized that I was neglecting one of the most important aspects of our day – my time spent just *being* with my children. This year, as we are in the final stages of preparing to adopt two more kids, my mind is full of the many things we need to do, and I am constantly rushing to the next step in my day. There will always be more to do, but I don’t want to spend these last weeks rushing ahead and missing the point.

So, I am officially starting the second annual outdoor challenge. My goal is to post a picture every day of the time we spent, preferably time outside. (if anyone wants to play along, feel free!)

I cannot believe how old my baby is getting.

I haven’t posted pictures of our painted kitchen, even though I am thouroughly enjoying it, because the new bookshelf that we got to go IN the kitchen has been giving me trouble. It turns out that it holds a huge amount – much more than I anticipated. Which sent me in a spiral of overthinking, overanalyzing ridiculousness. BUT Ray took the kids to the park over the weekend, and I was able to organize to my heart’s content.  The whole thing is supposed to be pretty fluid and change with our needs, but I am so glad to have a starting point.
